Want a Quiet Place to Relax or Just to read a book?
If you’re like me sometimes you just need a moment to yourself. Rather it’s just to get away for a quick massage, look for a place to grab a bite and enjoy the scenery, or you just simply needed a nap and you were not near your home. There is no rule book that says you must go out of town to relax or you must go to a book store to read a book. You ever just needed an hour or two to relax somewhere quiet and recharge, well look no further because I got you covered! Here are my top 5 places to relax in Houston.
1. Prosperous Paradise and Spa
If your looking for a “Korean” / “Japanese” day spa type of experience, this place is for you. This is not your typical fancy-schmancy spa place full of beautiful robes with overpriced services. This is a place full of serenity, comfort, and relaxation, leave everything else at the door. I have searched high and low for a spa place in the Houston area with a setup similar like to various ones I have visited in the past and I can say Prosperous paradise spa took great care of me. With heated floors, an open area where you can enjoy a nice foot or back massage, not to mention the crystal room where you can relax and collect your thoughts. This facility also has various rooms decorated uniquely for individuals and couples massage. Their place is very clean and professional. This spa offers full-body massages, fire cupping and so much more!
2. The Nap Bar
As stated on their website, The Nap Bar is, ” a place to dream, relax and refresh.” I have had numerous friends tell me about the infamous Nap Bar, and I am extremely intrigued! A place to go take a nap in the middle of a workday. You can reserve a suite from 20 minutes to a full 4 hours! As an entrepreneur I am constantly running around, exhausted with no time for myself. So hearing about this spot, I had to know more about this Napping Spot. You can even get a membership if need be, located in the Galleria Mall, stop by today and get your ” Nap On”!

3. The Spa at the Post Oak Hotel
Fancy, beautiful, and serene are just a few words that describe this spa located in one of Houston’s most elegant hotels. If your looking for a relaxing spa day where you will be pampered with all of the luxuries this hotel has to offer, this is by far one of the top spa’s Houston’s has to offer. From the lobby to the pool/ Cabanas to the A-1 customer service there is no second-guessing why this is the most expensive hotel in Houston. The Spa is over 20,000 square feet, with seven treatment rooms, tranquility pools and equipped with hot stone daybeds. For More Info regarding their services, Click Here. Note to self , be ready to spend some money Honey! LOL
4. Tiny Boxwoods
This is a cute upscale yet casual cafe that is both in and outdoor. Not only is the food great but I love going there to read and enjoy their scenery of the garden that sits outside on the patio area. It can get a little noisy on the wknd and especially around lunchtime. But if you go around 2 pm (Weekdays) you can sit and enjoy nature, a sandwich all while collecting your thoughts or reading a good novel. Click Here
5. The Buffalo Bayou Park
This park is 160 acres of greenery with various views of Houston’s skyline. This park is equipped with a skate park, a fountain, running trails, and a duck pond. However I have a special place I like to go to take a good book or I may just sit and meditate. There are several benches and sitting areas along the Kitchen at the Dunlavy which is located inside the Buffalo Bayou Park. I often frequent the Kitchen at Dunlavy to work on my laptop and take calls, however whenever I am looking to relax I go to this little area for peace. Which is located right outside of the cafe that overlooks the Buffalo Park. Just look at this picture , this should be an example as to why this is on my list for the top 5 places to relax in Houston.
