How to set a goal?
Setting a goal is a process which starts with a desire to accomplish a need or a want. There are several things you must decide on first:
- Determine what your goals are
- Gather all neccessary, relevant information
- Devise a plan and write it down!
Keep in mind any goal can be accomplished with the right plan and mindset! Just remember you need to devise a precise plan and take action! How can you get to your destination if you do not have a map or guide!
Personally, I love to write all my goals down and I divide them into small individual steps or actions.
All goals require action!
One of my favorite scriptures is ” Faith without works is dead” James 2:26. You can’t have one without the other! You just can’t have a goal and write up a plan. In the words of B. Simone “Baby Girl” you need actions to follow through and execute what it is your trying to achieve.
Every day ask yourself “What steps do I need to take today?”. By now it should be all planned in advance so check your plan and make sure you take each step every day. If you discover additional steps are needed add them to the plan.
Accountability: Review your progress Weekly & Monthly
Review your progress for weekly & monthly so that you can track your achievements. Check what you’ve done and what you may have missed. Adjust your plan for the next week or month.
Your plan should always take into account what you will do today, tomorrow, this week, next week before the end of the month, in the next 3 months, 6 months…? Always write down your results.
Do not get discouraged
If goals were easy to achieve everyone would be successful Billionaires. Goals are difficult because they move you outside your comfort zone to do things differently. To be successful you have to face your own fear of failure and take risks.
You must put in the work in order to see results. True success comes from the daily actions we all take. Using goals ensures that all the actions you take are moving you in the direction you wish to go in. Now grab a pen and pad start writing your goals down ASAP!
